There are a lot of things we do no know about our own country, may it be in any feild, it is so rich in art, culture, science, mythology and many other sections. i would like to share one such thing about art that many of us dont know or would not even care to go and learn about it.
There are different kinds of street plays. I knew about them watching them in tollywood movies. In Andhra Pradesh, very few art school teaches these kind of plays in remotest areas. They are BURAHKATHA and HARIKATHA.
BURAHKATHA is the street play in which there are three people, a narrator, a comedian and a person who repeats everything to emphasize. They tell stories about great people, fighters, saviours like ALLURI SITARAMRAJU.
In HARIKATHA an individual moves around the village and narrates the mythologial stories, talks about social issues.
these are the ways by which messages and awareness was spread amoung people.
